This is the beginning of my blog! I am making a blog that i'll post step by step my progress developing my server. I have run servers in the past and they have all done fairly well! To make sure I am not breaking on blogging rules . I will only put a server IP once it is opened to the public. So what will be in this blog??


About myself:


I have played minecraft since the Alpha day. I started out just playing the game solo and then found out multiplayer existed. There was even a time where I had to beg my mom to get on because I had a store on a server and I needed to stock up the items lol (I was fairly young when alpha was out.) As I grew up I always wanted to be run my own server. I opened up my first server. It was pretty terrible haha but it attracted a lot of people. Sadly my small knowledge of permissions caused some issues and the server had to be shut down for about a week. I reopened it and it ran for about 8 months before I thought I needed a fresh start. I learned a lot from that first server and have loved building communities like that since. I have ran 4 servers since, Three I still have listed in my profile. All such fond memories. I had to step away to focus on football. Currently I am playing D1 college Football (for the sake of privacy I won’t list the school). I was told I needed to relax a little more and find a new hobby. So, now I am making a new server and want to involve the community as I build it!


What kind of server will it be?


I am hoping that people will throw their ideas out and I can integrate them into the server as I go along! It will either be a towny/factions server. Potentially griefing allowed (or not, i’ll run a poll on my own server website to decide this). Some form of an economy so players are able to run their own shops (minimal server involvement to help keep a consistent market). I would like to figure out a good way to have solid PVP on the server; towny wars, PVP arena, bounties, whatever it may be. I think this will be a solid start for the server.


How long will it take for it to open?


  1. Deciding the type of server is essential. I’ll take the next couple days to figure it out, hoping comments are contributed. Comment what you like!

  2. Then I am going to take about 1-2 days to start the website with our own forums and polls so people will vote the content into the game!

  3. Server development will then begin! (5-7 days, cause I still am training for football so I won’t be able to dedicate my full time to it)

    - First setting up the essential plugins needed

    - Adding in the permissions
  4. I will then open the server (whitelisted) to test out the permissions and plugins (1-2 days)

  5. Building the essential buildings! (I want to keep this very simply so players can get out to the world quick!) (2 days? Idk how elaborate it will be or should be.)

    - Obviously a main spawn area, with basic information of the server and rules

    - A small server shop with pricier basic items. (I would really encourage players to run their own shops.)

    - Whatever other essential buildings are needed.

  6. Once that is done I would have a soft opening with a few people to check to make sure things are okay. (obviously won’t be perfect.) (1-2 days, really depends if there is any serious issues.)

  7. Officially we would open!

  8. Then the part that everyone most dearly loves and begs for…. STAFF lol. I will open up a section on the server website where people may submit their application. This is something that is guaranteed ever and shouldn’t be expected nor demanded by anyone. Experienced minecraft players who know the game and are sociable are an expectation, not just a standard. Everyone would be welcome to submit this application.


Approximate opening will happen in about 2 weeks, give or take a couple days!


So what happens after opening? And to this blog?


Well obviously the work of a server is never done! It takes lots of updating and obviously adding more content to keep the game fresh will be essential. All updates I will post will be adding into this blog with explanations of how set it up and also adding to the website just as general information for the community. I really would like this blog to show what it is like setting up and running a server and in the process involving the community and talking about your ideas as well!


Updates with pictures and information will be added to this blog every step of the way when available!

(Decided to give you a sneak peak of the spawn as it is underway! It will need a few more days to get where we want it but thought this was a cool picture! Let us know any other ideas you have for the server!)

Update #2 on Spawn and Player Shops!


This is the 'Cloud Shopping District' (photo above). A variety of islands players can rent, build their own shops, and sell their goods to everyone! As the server expands so will this shopping district!
